Cargo started from Gautam Buddha Airport

Kathmandu, August 12th. Cargo service has started at Gautam Buddha International Airport after three months of commercial operation. For the first time on Friday, Himalex Traders of Kathmandu started sending cargo abroad through Rising Star Cargo Pvt Ltd.Gautam Buddha International Airport spokesperson Subas Jha said that currently, Kuwait’s Jazeera Air is operating three flights a week to Bhairawa Airport. Tikaram Gayre, head of customs at the airport, said that 1,300 kilos of handicrafts and woolen goods were exported from Kathmandu to Bhairahawa by truck.He informed that the cargo was transited to Kuwait and sent to France through a flight at 7 am on Saturday. He said, “The fare from Bhairahawa is also cheap because of the discount facilities such as customs duty, land service etc. It is believed that this will increase the attraction of this airport and help in earning foreign exchange. At present, the export of cargo has started through passenger flights.From July 2021 to July 2022, 739 tons of cargo has been imported and 2,409 tons of cargo has been exported from Tribhuvan International Airport. Bhairahawa airport waiting for cargo

On the 11th of July, the cargo material was exported for the first time using the Gautam Budh International Airport located in Bhairahawa. Kathmandu’s Himalex Tedders sent out the Nepalese products through Rising Star Cargo Pvt. Ltd. Handicraft goods were sent to France via Kuwait transit by Jazeera Air Since then, there has been no export from that airport. Gautam Budh International Airport, which is an alternative airport to Tribhuvan International Airport, has not been utilized for exports due to lack of interest from businessmen. Gautam Buddha International Airport

Nepal Freight Forward Association has demanded that the access road (road) leading to the completed customs warehouse (cargo building) at Gautam Buddha International Airport Bhairahawa be made immediately. With the resumption of flights from Gautam Budh International Airport, the representative of Nepal Free Forward Association, who came to study the feasibility of export through this airport and discuss with the stakeholders, has requested to construct an access road immediately as there is no access road to the customs and cargo building. They made this demand at a press conference held in Bhairahawa on Saturday to inform about the discussions held with stakeholders. Hari Dhakal, the owner of Rising Star Cargo, who exported Jajira Airways goods from this airport only last week, and the treasurer of Nepal Fred Forward Association, said that after he sent two tons of cargo from Gautam Budh International Airport, a new dimension was added and the door of export possibilities was opened. In the first phase, two tons of goods are going to be exported, the airport said. Jeevan Pant, manager of Rising Star Cargo Pvt. Ltd. said that the promotion of Gautam Budh Airport is the need of the moment. International cargo flight by Jazeera Airways

On August 27, Jazeera Airways inaugurated an international cargo flight from Bhairahawa Airport, carrying two tons of felt items on behalf of Himalex Traders. Rajendra Baniya, the sales and marketing manager for Jazeera’s Cargo said that the Nepal-based freight forwarder Rising Star Cargo Private Ltd. used Gautam Buddha International Airport for the first time to transport export items of Himalex Traders through Jazeera Airways. The inaugural cargo flight bound for France departed Bhairahawa Airport with a transit point at Kuwait and arrived at Lyon-Saint Exupery Airport. Rising Star Pvt Ltd’s general manager, Jivan Panta, said that two tons of woolen felted products were transported from Kathmandu to Bhairahawa by truck. Although it was a risky proposition, they wanted to convey that it was possible to ferry cargo from GBIA. After customs clearance, Jazeera Airways transported the handicraft product from GBIA Airport to Kuwait, which was eventually delivered to France’s Lyon Airport via Pegasus Airlines. Gautam Buddha International Airport, Nepal’s first international airport after the much-awaited Kathmandu, was officially opened on the day of Buddha Jayanti, 2079 Jyeshtha 2, and since then, cargo operators have started to take interest. Gautam Budh International Airport has started air cargo transportation of Rising star Cargo for the first time as it is an easy way to export through air cargo. This effort will attract the attention of other cargo companies and will become a priority in Nepali commerce like TRIB International Airport. Rising Star Cargo is the first agent to handle exports from Bhairahawa International Airport.

Kathmandu. Rising Star Cargo Private Limited, which has been engaged in import-export for the past 23 years, has become the first cargo company to conduct export business from Bhairahawa International Airport. This is the second international airport of Nepal which has recently been put into operation. Rising Star Cargo has succeeded in setting an example among Nepali exporters and inspired them to use Bhairahawa Airport for exports. Currently Kuwait’s Jazeera Airlines is flying, but many other airlines are in the pipeline to fly from Bhairahawa. It will be more beneficial for the exporters located near the western region of Nepal and will be an alternative option during any technical problem (TIA). Jeevan Pant, manager of Rising Star Cargo, said that Bhairahawa International Airport is fully equipped and there will be no hindrance for exports.
